This book is a box,
With a hinge for a spine.
Loose leaves for pages; four petals and nine.
Lotus is a recollection of events leading up to my grandmother's funeral. The mise-en-scène of the funeral drove me to create this non-fiction experimental publication, that attempts to visually give a taste of the culture I'm part of.
My gravitation towards cinema and its use of symbols guided the process of making this book. Throughout the conception of this book, Wes Anderson's Darjeeling Limited was my bible and my hymn–The Velvet Undergrounds.
